The meeting was held in the conference room of College of International Education at FNU on December 12th. Joseph, President of Angeles University Foundation, Arthurp, President of Al-Azhar University, FNU President Wang Changping, Chinese and foreign deans of the Confucius Institutes at both universities, and relevant officials from the College of International Education, attended the meeting.
At the meeting, President Wang Changping said that the two Confucius Institutes have seized the important opportunity presented by the 10th anniversary of the “Belt and Road” initiative, and achieved remarkable accomplishments in Chinese language education, digital transformation, training services, cultural activities, and other aspects. He expected that both the Chinese and foreign sides will continue to maintain close contact, and enhance interactive exchanges to contribute to the joint construction of the “Belt and Road” initiative, support the economic and social development of countries along the route, and contribute to the broader and deeper exchanges and cooperation between China and the Philippines, and between China and Indonesia.
The Chinese and foreign deans of the two Confucius Institutes reported to the board members on the progress since the last board meeting, the budgetary situation of project funds, and the work plans for the next phase. They emphasized the key projects and activities undertaken during the current year. The board members present carefully reviewed the work reports and plans of the two Confucius Institutes, fully acknowledged the achievements, made suggestions, and further specified the development direction of the Confucius Institutes.
